Paris in five days

Planning on visiting Paris but only have five days to see it all? No worries. That's more than enough time for Paris to steal your heart.

I've spent six months living in this wondrous city and can say it is my favourite place in the world. You can visit over and over again and discover something new.

Tips

If you're under 26, most sights are free (otherwise, purchase a Paris Museum Pass for unlimited visits and no lines).
Purchase a Paris Visité Métro Pass if you plan on using the metro often.

Day 1:

Grab a crepe or a fresh panini on the street and go stroll through the city. Take it all in. You're in Paris!
Start at Cathédrale Notre Dame and walk along the seine to the Musée du Louvre. Continue through the Jardin des Tuileries and down to Place de la Concorde. You should end up on Champs-Élysées facing L'Arc de Triomphe (the best view of Paris).
Walk down Avenue Montaigne to see the high-end shops. This leads you to the Eiffel Tower (which sparkles on the hour at night).

Day 2:

Musée d'Orsay, Musée de l'Orangerie, Centre Pompidou, Musée du Louvre...pick up a metro map at any stop (for free), grab your pass and go.
The Louvre is overwhelming. Pick a few exhibits you would like to see.

Day 3:

Take the RER C to Versailles. Explore the palaces.
Head back into the city. Grab wine and cheese and sit by the Eiffel Tower for the evening! Bon Appétit mes amis.

Day 4:

Visit Montmartre. You will find the Sacré-Coeur, Moulin Rouge and Refuge Des Fondues (best fondue in Paris).
Drop by the Catacombs (if you dare).
Stroll the cobblestone roads towards Rue Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement (my beloved neighbourhood). You'll find the best boulangeries here.
Au P'Tit Grec for crêpes and galettes is a must (and is a bang for your buck).
